wygirl 02/19/2008 #

no tea for me either please

wygirl 02/19/2008 #

oh... can the letters be written on the computer or is handwritten preferred?

No1Sassygrl 02/20/2008 #

I personally prefer handwritten letters they are more personal. We're always online and typing away at the keyboard. So I think it's nice to get a regular old-school- snail-mail-letter...But whatever you decide on is fine...we all have our own ways of doing things and our own preferences.

PS. Typing to save time and energy is not permitted. It takes the fun out of pen paling!

I'm so excited! This is my first swap on this site. I'm going to go buy stationary this evening so I can write my letters on something nice. I should be sending them all out by this weekend.

wygirl 02/21/2008 #

Okie dokie. When I get on the keyboard everything just flows out. Well this would give me an excuse to buy some pretty paper :)

swtgagrl29 02/25/2008 #

I prefer to type my letters and print them on pretty paper. I write really big and take up more paper than necessary. LOL! I hope my pals don't mind. :-)

I'm a little confused, I got a letter today from someone, but they are not someone I sent a letter to. Are the people who send to us and the people we send to different? I'd like to give her feedback (she wrote a wonderful letter!) but I don't know what her swap-bot name is. Though I can hazard a guess based on her cats name...

Can anyone help me out with this?

No1Sassygrl 02/25/2008 #

Danido-----you dont usually get the people you send to, although sometimes you do. you can click at the top when you view the swap and click rate coordinator and partners and find her and rate her.

This is a great swap! Lots of fun! How do you store all the letter swaps you get? Do you have a special album or notebook for them? I can't imagine after going through all this work to just throw them away. :) I love mail!!!! This made my day :)

Ladies, a reminder that postage is 41 cents. I had to pay postage due on one of my letters i received.

I love swap-bot...he he he u grls are all so nice to help one another out...hugz :P

Timeless63 03/ 1/2008 #

Well she didnt put a 41 cents stamp on it. But it is ok. I also found out by taking mine to the post office that i had to add postage even though i had 41 cents o it because the envies were too thick! Sheesh! They charge double for that! 1.80 to send a fat letter overseas. I don't mind at all but i think the post office should charge less than double. It is my own fault for being such a long winded letter writer! lol

danido 03/ 2/2008 #

I had the same problem. I wasn't long winded but my envelopes were thicker because I used heavy stationary and added ribbon and things to each of them. I cost me on average a dollar an envelope.

rockstar20h 03/ 6/2008 #

Timeless I did put a 41 cent stamp on that envenlope because it's the forever stamp...they are all 41 cent stamps plus I pay $41 for a roll every time I got to the post office!! But I am sending you your 17 cents with a reply letter!!

danido 03/ 7/2008 #

I'm worried some of my letters may have got lost. I haven't heard from two of my partners and I sent all the letters on the same day. Should I email them to see if they got them? What's the etiquette here?

Timeless63 03/ 8/2008 #

rockstar20h, you know what? you're right, it is a 41 cents stamp ! I must have had a brain glitch but i think i know why. The postmistress charged me 17 cents for your letter, but every single letter i took up there to get mailed to be on the safe side that needed extra postage she charged me another 41 cents because of thickness and weight. 90 cents extra for the overseas that were thicker and weighed a bit more. So that was 82 cents per american mail and 180 for foreign for a LETTER! I guess in my flusteredness ( if that is a word ) i was thinking since she didnt charge me 41 cents that your stamp was less than the full 41 cents and therefore only cost a few extra cents. You'll have to forgive me for my mistake. My brain doesnt function so well when i have so many things going on like i do now. I dont need 17 cents either. If that makes me starve then i have big problems.
