Description:

Thx to @honeyblossom for permission to use her idea! (I have changed it up a bit for this swap.)

For this journal all you have to do is put 20 somethings, anythings, in a journal during the month of June.

It can be a recipe, a song lyric, a poem, a story, a humorous joke, a neat picture, you get the idea. Entries can be typed, handwritten, cut out of a magazine/newspaper, etc.

Make the inside of the journal colorful by using stickers (judiciously only please), artwork, doodles, whatever, don't just have a bunch of words with nothing pretty to look at.

You can have more than 20 entries if you like, but only 20 are required. Please date each entry (you can have more than one entry per day - your choice).

You can use any type of notebook or journal, handmade or purchased, and you do NOT have to decorate the outside (unless you want to). It must be at least 4"x6" (10 cm x 15 cm).

Please pm me if you have any questions as I don't check my swaps daily. Thx.

Thank you Terry!

You're welcome PJ!

Too join or not to join? That is the question. I do not enjoy regular journals, but this seems more along my ally way.

TerryF 04/ 5/2012 #

Even though I like to write, I am not into journaling either, because it just seems too much like "work". lol The thought of having to angel a journal swap also scares me.

I do, however, like the idea of quick and fun journalling projects like this.

flofirenzie 04/ 6/2012 #

I like to combine adding the somethings with one, sometimes two sentences for the day. Or sometimes I add a though provoking question.

TerryF 04/ 8/2012 #

Great idea flofirenzie! Maybe a journal of journal prompts?

fang0915 04/11/2012 #

Hmmm... What if my notebook has more than 30 pages and I can't fill all of them? Can I put in some prompts on those pages so my partner can fill them up instead of leaving those blank?

Moosecastle 04/12/2012 #

Good question @fang0915 !

Paige1900 04/19/2012 #

Answering for @TerryF ..I would say as long as you complete the required number (20) "somethings" in your journal what you do with any remaining pages is entirely up to you. (Within reason...I mean not sure if your partner would like naked pictures of Fat Albert or anything...but I would tend to think that the remainder of the pages are up to you)

Disclaimer - I am not judging...if you like naked pictures of Fat Albert that is cool...just might not be "right" for this journal

TerryF 04/19/2012 #

Paige is correct. Once you have met the swap requirements, you can do whatever you like with the rest of the journal - leave it blank or fill it any way you like. (";)

I am sooo looking forward to this swap! : )

Believe it or not, I have never done a journal swap. But this one looks tempting! The question I have, since I've never even seen a journal made in Swapbotland, is this: What is normal regarding the actual journal itself? An 8X10 type with bound in pages? A spiral notebook? A Scrapbook type of thing? Smaller? Bigger? How big?

TerryF 05/18/2012 #

I just started doing them this year. From what I have read about them, they can be any size and style you like.

If you go to this swap, there are some links to info if you are new to journals.

PJ 05/30/2012 #

Oh, I am soooo going to try to find naked pictures of Fat Albert to put in my journal for Paige ...

TerryF 06/29/2012 #

I have been in contact with my partner about sending late due to RL issues.

TerryF 06/30/2012 #

My partner has kindly advised to send when I am able to. (";)

TerryF 08/11/2012 #

This is now done - all I have to do is wait until Monday, August 13 to mail it. (";)
