PARTICIPATE in EARTH HOUR

WHAT IS EARTH HOUR?

The goal of EARTH HOUR to demonstrate to governments, businesses and citizens to consider a more sustainable way of life. It is just for 60 minutes and is meant to help us reflect on our patterns of energy consumption and make commitments to undertake environmentally-positive actions.

EARTH HOUR is MARCH 31st at 8:30 pm.

Please turn off and unplug all your lights, appliances and electronics for this hour and plan some activities that do not require electricity.

• Candlelight dinner

• Family walk to see the stars

• Play some board games by candlelight

• have an indoor camp-out with sleeping bags in front of the fireplace

• make some popcorn in the fireplace

• read a book

For this swap you will send a hand written letter or card to your partner, telling them what you did for EARTH HOUR and how you felt about not having electricity for one hour. You could even use recycled paper such as a brown paper bag to write your letter on. You will have one week to write your letter and send it out
