Description:

All crocheters and knitters seem to end up with loads and loads of left over yarn that they have no idea what to do with. I know that I am certainly not the only one with an overflowing basket of yarn, plus a drawer or two full, plus a pile in the corner, plus a box of it, plus some in that one suitcase that I haven't opened for about six months...

The rules of this swap:

Each swapper will have one partner and they will gather together their yarn scraps and send them with whatever goodies you choose to another person. You must send at least a shoebox full (for an adult shoe... not a child's shoe...) of scrap yarn. Scraps must be useable, don't send anything that is too short to use for anything.

Little extras are optional, but to get a star you should send some notions or other goodies. In the discussion please specify if you are a knitter or a crocheter or both.

I will either angel packages, or find someone to do so. You must have participated in at least 5 swaps and have at least a 4.5 to participate.

I think you mean to get a heart. Stars are what hosts get if enough ppl in their swap liked the swap and thought the host did a good job.

You say not to send something you can't do anything with. I don't know what that means. Should scraps mean at least a ball, a half ball, what? You can do things with partial balls too like make a scarf from multiple left overs or an a blanket, etc. I am making a scarf right now from leftovers. What do you think is appropriate to send?

Is this an international swap?

I guess everyone has different needs but I can use wound balls as small as 1-2 inches if it's feltable wool for stripes in cases or flowers and leaves. If it's regular worsted weight 3-4" and novelty yarns maybe half of a skein. I plan on including a few patterns that use scrap yarns up well like cuffs on magic gloves or felted eyeglass cases etc. I'm a knitter.

Would prefer bright colors to darks if at all possible.

I found another need! I knit cotton wash cloths and my daughter requested that I make smaller versions in dark colors to remove eye makeup with. So I could use cotton yarn leftovers that weren't big enough for a wash cloth but would make a piece about a 3 inch square.

Anyone else with requests?
