work changed me ...

today, as i sat in on a meeting in a very strange environment...i found myself thinking about what great life lessons (both personal and professional) that i have learned through my assorted careers and how i have carried those lessons forward into my personal life.

for this swap, i would like each participant to write a letter ( minimum 2 pages) telling about at least two significant life lessons you have learned through your experiences at work. write about what the lessons were and how it transfered itself into not just your work life, but your personal life, your values and so on. if you would like to share more than two lesson then please do. write about significant lessons that changed you somehow, changed your life, your thoughts, your behaviours, how you look at the world. write about the type of work you were doing, who you were before the "lesson" and who you are now because of it. was it something you witnessed, heard, wished you had not seen, something someone else role modeled (either good or bad)

• the lessons you learned while at work is not limited by paid work , it can be work you did as a volunteer, as a grandchild working for your grandparents, work you did after school, work you had to do as punishment or unpaid work that you did/do at home.
