Did this last year so I thought maybe this year we can do it again as it is really fun to do and sometimes even amazing what you can write. The idea is to pick a book, open to a page, any page and staying on it count every 12th word, write it down and do this for every 12th word on that page or the next until you have 15 words. Then you write a poem with those words and other words of your own. It can be surprising how you will be able to make a poem out of them by using them and your imagination. You then write them on a note card, list the words that you are using along with your poem and put the name of the book you used. International and newbies too. However, if I only get 3 or less swappers interested enough then I will cancel the swap. Any quetions just let me know.

Are we writing 2 separate poems or just copying the one for both partners?

Just one to each partner. Also, it is so easy to makeup a poem and then say it came from words in a book you counted. Be fair please and remember to get your words first.this is the challenge.

I'm going to make a photocopy of the page of the book - then the recipient can really tell that I did my "homework". :0) So excited for this.

Oh, shoot! I Just spent a lot of time working with the words I found, and actually came up with a really good poem--then I reread the description where it says "15 words" lol--I only picked 12--That was the method in the last one of these random poetry swaps I was in...back to the drawing board, so to speak.

OMG--I just went and counted out the additional 3 words and they all worked into the poem! Unbelievable! Now I MUST join this swap! I was just watching until I found something good! lol

Is it okay if it encompasses the word, but it may be used in another form? Like using shoulders when your word was shoulder?
