New Year's Haiku

Ever written a Haiku? This is not something I'm good at but let's wing it! If you're not familiar with haiku poetry, there are lots of articles and sites online to google. Some of them can be quite complex!

"Haiku" is a traditional form of Japanese poetry. Haiku poems consist of 3 lines. The first and last lines of a Haiku have 5 syllables and the middle line has 7 syllables. The lines rarely rhyme.- - - Here's a Haiku to help you remember:

• I am first with five

• Then seven in the middle --

• Five again to end

Write 3 or more haikus that apply to the New Year. Use any interpretation of that theme you choose. Don't sweat it—this is meant to be fun! Email to your partners. . At least 5 must sign up or the swap will be cancelled.
