Zentangle Rainbow Series #1 RED

Had a question about how much red, so this: Something red should stand out, so it doesn't even have to be 75% red, for example if the tangle was all back-and-white, and the only color was red, it would pop even if it weren't 75% of the piece. It's your call as an artist. Go wild kids.

Had another question about the type of paper: cardstock is just fine imho. I like the way my pen scoots over the smooth surface. Right now I'm using tiles from zentangle.com, these are nice and stiff but have a rough surface. You have to be very very careful when erasing, and you must use a very soft eraser, or you'll tear the surface. The paper doesn't diffuse the pen, but the pen doesn't move very smoothy either. When I'm done with these tiles, I'm going to make my own from cardstock or smooth bristol. LIKE I SHOULD HAVE DONE IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!!!! :D

I use assortment of papers but I usually glue it to say a ceral box card board or something heavy. I even use sketch paper. Normally the only problem most people have starting out is they get the wrong pen. Get the kind that doesn't bled. my favortie is sharpie fine or ulta fine pen not marker but pen. micro is good to

My favorite paper is Strathmore's Bristol Vellum found at Michaels. I like the fine Sharpie pen, it's more fine than a ultra fine Sharpie marker. I also really like the Faber Castell pens from Michaels, found in the art section.

I have not yet seen a Sharpie PEN. Where you do get these?

I got the Sharpie that I am using, at Hobby Lobby I think, but have seen them at Walmart and also the office supply stores. It's more narrow than the sharpie markers, and has a black cap, but the body of the pen is silver mostly with some black. The side of it says SHARPIE Pen. Up at the top , just under where the cap fits onto the body of the pen, it says FINE. It seems more like extra fine to me, but I've not seen this particular pen except in FINE.
