Tip :If you have to send a package to Europe please wright the 7 with an extra line in the middle . Offently postmen take the overseas 7 for a 1 !

Little question : If possible can you put real stamps on the packages ? Not those ugly white postoffice things :o))) I know many stamp collectors overhere and real stamps are very rare this days .

Sorry Lamazon, we aren't really given the choice of real stamps, the post office staff just print out the labels and that's that.

I always try to put real stamps on my packages overseas- I assume the recipient or someone they know will want them.

At the post office if you tell them BEFORE they start the transaction that you want to use regular stamps, they comply. They may not be happy about it, and it does take extra time, but WE are the customer, after all. They do not have the right to dictate to you what to buy. I just try to be polite, and I try to go when they are not too busy. Most of the time if I explain that I am sending to a stamp collector that does not have a lot of access to stamps from the US, they are more than happy to oblige.

It also helps to make it easy- use whole books or sheets of stamps. For example, I had to send off a package for ~$9 the other day. It was very easy for me to ask to use a whole sheet of the Disney stamps (for $7.80), and to get them to meter the remaining $1.20 using one of the orange/white labels. Also, the post office has higher value stamps- you can use those (like the Priority Mail stamps- I think those are $4.05 now). It is very easy to cover most of the cost with stamps and let them do the remaining balance metered. That way everyone is happy!

Haven't received anything yet - but based on the "1" my sender has I'm sure that nothing is in the mail! What a bummer!
