I also like willows -- there are some great lakes and rivers in this area of the US, with lots of opportunities to enjoy native and introduced willows. They make great basket material as well. I really liked the imagery in your letter and I am very embarrassed that it took me so long to thank you! I appreciated what you wrote :)
